Our Heart
In the Philippines, the concept of Senior Homes is foreign or unpopular for most. Culturally, Filipino families are known to take responsibility for the care of their elders. The very few institutions there are who offer quality elderly care also come with a steep price tag or caters mostly to foreigners as well. Unfortunately, there is a population of seniors who come from families who are medically or financially incapable to look after them. This is the very purpose of Anawim (https://anawim.com.ph/), a non-profit home for neglected or disadvantaged seniors in the Philippines.
Its team of medical volunteers and Healthcare Personnel headed by a professor from a top Nursing School in the Philippines, ensures the free yet proper geriatric and bedside care is provided to all residents. In order to sustain their mission, CBB has committed to supporting Anawim by sending an automatic donation for every deployment.
It is vital that we do not create new holes as we fill the gaps elsewhere for people and services.
